How Our Swims Started - And why!
Life as parents is fantastic… and full-on. Anyone with kids knows that the luxury of uninterrupted couple time ranks somewhere between “rare solar eclipse” and “finding matching socks on the first try.”
We don’t take our children to naturist events and travelling long distances for swims or meet-ups just isn’t realistic when the childcare window is tiny. By the time we’d get there, we’d basically have to turn around and come straight back.
So, instead of trying to squeeze ourselves into an impossible schedule, we created our own solution!
We knew someone who owned a pool and spa facility and hired it out privately. One day, we simply asked the question: “Would you consider letting us host naturist swims here?”
To our surprise (and relief), they said yes.
For us, these swims tick every box.
We get to embrace our naturist side.
We get to mingle with like-minded people.
We get a relaxing swim, a sauna and the rare experience of being off duty.
And we get a little slice of time where we’re not answering questions, mediating arguments, or cutting up anyone’s food. A genuine win-win.
That small conversation turned into something much bigger. Now we host these swims roughly every six weeks. It’s only a half-hour drive for us, which means asking our parents to watch the kids for a few hours is completely doable. No epic road trips. No stress. Just enough time to breathe, reconnect and enjoy being ourselves.
We also know how fortunate we are to have secured this venue. The owners aren’t naturists themselves but they’ve been open-minded, curious and incredibly respectful. They found the concept intriguing and trusted us to use their beautiful space with the care it deserves.
To honour that trust and maintain a strong relationship, all bookings come through us. We work hard to ensure genuine naturists attend—people who share the ethos, the respect, and the comfort of being part of a welcoming community.
Our swims may have started as a practical solution to a parenting dilemma, but they’ve grown into something far more meaningful for us. A getaway without the miles. A community without the complications. And a chance, every few weeks, to simply be ourselves—together.
