Naturist Life Drawing Event
Life drawing isn’t new to us, we’ve been running fortnightly sessions from our studio for six years. This time, though, we added a slightly different twist. Not only were the model’s nude, but the artists were too. That’s right, this was our second successful naturist life drawing session.
After the usual introductions and a quick explanation of how
the session would run, we invited everyone to undress if they felt comfortable.
There was no pressure or expectation, just a choice. As it turned out, everyone
chose to take part, and the shift in atmosphere was immediate. The room
softened. Conversations flowed more easily, and there were noticeably more
smiles.
Chris began with a couple of short five-minute standing poses while Ginny sketched and kept an eye on the time. Then, in a seamless switch, Ginny stepped in to pose for two longer ten-minute sessions, before Chris returned to complete another set.
After a well-earned break for tea, coffee and biscuits, Ginny resumed with a beautifully relaxed reclined pose for fifteen minutes. Chris then closed the session with the final pose.
We ended, as always, by sharing and discussing everyone’s
work still completely at ease, and still completely nude as we moved around the
room. It’s always fascinating to see how differently each person interprets the
same subject, and how varied perspectives can completely transform what’s
captured on the page.
In many ways, this session wasn’t so different from our
usual life drawing events. The same creativity, the same focus, but with an
added sense of ease. If anything, it took the pressure off modelling. Being the
only nude person in a room can feel far more daunting. When everyone shares
that same vulnerability, those everyday social barriers seem to fall away, both
physically and figuratively.
It became what naturism does best:
A quietly powerful, body-positive experience.
The sketches are proof of the session itself, but what stays
with us most is the memory of a relaxed, open, and genuinely enjoyable day.
