Ferens Art Gallery

 

2021 was the start of us submitting our work to exhibitions at different galleries in the hope of getting our names out there and to start to be recognised for the artistic elements of our work. This has been a new experience for us and we have been overwhelmed by the response. For me, Chris, it's been a bit of a scary process as we have selected nude images to best represent our work. These have now been shared with many more people than would normally see our work including family, friends and work colleagues. The response has been completely positive with humour, curiosity, questions and congratulations. 

All three of our submissions made it through the initial selection processes which has greatly exceeded our expectations. Our best result and an unbelievable achievement has been to make it into the Ferens Art Gallery Summer Exhibition. This is such a prestigious gallery hosting some amazing exhibitions and classic paintings and a previous host of the Turner Prize. We delivered our work last weekend and cannot wait to attend the exhibition when it opens in late July. It will be quite something to see our photography on the walls and a bit of a shock to see my nude image on pubic display. I'm sure we'll post another update about our visit.

This is the image which you can see in the Ferens from July to October. This was a joint effort from us both, my original idea, Ginny's amazing photography to capture the movement and then my creativity to produce the final image.
